Factory Direct Tracked Spider Crane for Construction Works

Jan 15 2025

Operating a spider crane requires great skills and training. The operator, often called a rigger, must be able to precisely control the crane’s movements to avoid accidents, and be able to complete the comprehensive procedural flow required to lift anything on a construction site. Most crane operators and riggers are required to complete a lifting study before lifting anything.

This is a lengthy risk assessment study that evaluates the lifting conditions (including weather, ground stability and other interactions) and safety hazards before the operation.

After completing the procedural aspects of the lift, the rigger will attach the load to the spider crane’s hook once all workers on site have been notified of the lift. The operator uses a remote control to operate the hydraulic pump that powers the crane’s lifting and movement. Working at height is the most dangerous aspect of any construction project.

When moving a load, the operator must be careful not to swing it too far, as this could damage nearby property or injure people. The operator must also always be aware of the tracked mini crane surroundings to avoid accidents. If any lifting conditions change, the lift will be stopped and a new lift study will be prepared before restarting.

Tracked mini cranes offer many advantages over traditional cranes. Their compact size means they are much more flexible and can be used in tight spaces such as inside buildings, making them the only cranes truly suitable for indoor use. It can be used in places where all other cranes will not fit.

The reality is that in some construction situations, a spider lift crane is your only option because the space is so narrow or compact that no other type of mobile crane can fit into that space. Despite the many advantages that spider lift cranes offer in tight space applications, its main limitation is its limited lifting capacity. Their weight and lack of size really limit their payload capacity.

Well, if your job is in a confined space that is difficult to get into, and you need to lift a load that exceeds the capacity of other types of elevated work platforms or lift and shift gear, then you probably need a spider crane.

If you need a crane that can maneuver around tight spaces and lift heavy loads, a spider crane is the right choice.
