Oman Spider Cranes Transaction Case

We have a customer from Oman who sent us the first inquiry for our spider crane in the middle of August. After we sent the catalogue of spider crane to the customer, the customer chose the spider crane of model SS8.0. We asked the customer about the sea port before quoting, and the customer said that the sea port is Male. We were surprised because this is a port in Maldives, but the client is from Oman. The client told us that this was a project for their company in the Maldives and the spider crane was used exclusively for this project.

After the quotation, we also show our test video, operation video and so on to the customer. The client thought it was fine but told us it was over budget as the mini crawler crane was only used for this one project. We thus concluded the first round of dialogue. Why do I say this? Because the client came back to me in September and asked me to update the latest price of SS8.0 spider crane. I guess the client may still be considering spider crane, but because of the actual usage and client budget, I decided not to bother the client any more.

At the end of the October, the client contacted me again to inquire about the parameters of the mini crawler crane. And asked me to share some working videos of 8t spider crane. At the same time, our client sent us detailed parameter requirements. After review and discussion by our engineers, it was found that our 8t spider crane could not meet the customer’s requirements. And all our models of mini spider crane still can’t satisfy. I again recommended customer to use other machines instead of mini spider crane. Customers are satisfied with the spider crane and are willing to lower the lifting capacity.

I told our engineers about the lowered lifting weight of the customer. And after their discussion again, we finally recommended the customer to use a 12t and a 5t spider crane for work. After communication within the client and their precast beam suppliers, our final solution was approved. Before long, the customer placed an order with us.
