Spider Crane Maintenance Guide after Rain

Oct 11 2024

When the 3 ton spider crane is performing lifting operations outdoors, it is inevitably affected by the weather. Therefore, it is very important to do a good job of rain protection and post-rain maintenance of the 3 ton spider crane. It can not only improve the performance of the equipment, but also extend its service life. Here I will share with you how to maintain the spider crane on rainy days.

When the amount of water wading is large, check whether the vehicle line is short-circuited and water is ingressed in time, check whether the exhaust pipe is ingressed, and clean the exhaust pipe in time.

When a sudden heavy rain falls during the use of the mini crawler spider crane, the operation should be stopped quickly and the vehicle should be collected and placed in a sheltered place such as indoors. Nowadays, there are more and more acidic substances contained in rainwater. In order to prevent the protective paint of the equipment from being eroded by rainwater, it is recommended that you clean it immediately after the rain and do a comprehensive inspection and maintenance of the surface paint layer.

When there is water on the ground, be sure to move the vehicle to a dry place. When the mini crawler spider crane is accidentally submerged in water and the engine is shut down due to water ingress, do not ignite it again, and contact the manufacturer in time for return to the factory for repair.

If it rains for a long time, the moisture brought by the rain can easily cause the chassis and other metal parts of the tracked spider crane to rust. It is recommended to do a thorough cleaning and rust prevention treatment on the chassis and other metal structural parts, generally once every three months.

The internal circuits of the 3 ton spider crane are also easily affected by the moisture generated by rain and cause small faults such as short circuits. Therefore, it is recommended that you use special desiccants and other substances to spray on the parts that are prone to trouble, such as wires, spark plugs, and high-voltage wires, on rainy days to keep them dry.
